Choosing a payment solution for your business: what to compare
Fees are only one part of the picture. Approval, payout speed, support and fit for your business model matter too.

Understand how you will take payments
Selling online, over the phone, in person and by subscription each need different tools. Decide which you need now and which you may need in a year, so you do not have to change providers later.
Look at the full cost
Compare the percentage and fixed fee per transaction, monthly fees, setup costs, chargeback fees and any minimums. A low headline rate can be cancelled out by extra charges, so ask for a full fee schedule.
Check approval, payout and support
Ask how long approval takes, what the business must provide, how fast money reaches your bank, and how to reach support when a payment fails. Some business types are treated as higher risk, so be honest about yours from the start.
Security and compliance
Choose a provider that handles card data under PCI DSS so sensitive details never sit on your own website. Ask about fraud tools and how disputes are handled.
